D&D General BG3 Massive Spoiler Thread

Nyet. He has been very effective however.
I'm gonna guess monk, since that's the class that lets you fight effectively without gear at low level, and it tends to be a natural fit for Astarion even if you don't respec him.

(That said, you can switch off between "camp clothes" and "adventuring clothes" -- the Astarion in the image could actually be kitted out in plate for all we know.)
Yeah I had to buff my initiative to make sure my party went first. Magic missile for the win. I used Gales highlights level spell slot for magic missile and La'zel did the rest with a potion of speed.
Another option is to blast the chanting cultists. Once they're down, Orin's Unstoppable quits being refreshed every round. It's challenging since they're all under Sanctuary, which means you have to use AoEs or other indirect attacks (like @AdmundfortGeographer's Arrows of Many Targets) to kill them. The easiest way to get rid of them is to use effects like Thunderwave or Gust of Wind to throw them off the platform into the pit -- don't worry about the loot, they have next to nothing.

You can also knock Orin off the platform, but unlike the cultists, she has loot worth collecting, so I prefer to avoid that route.

I think there's an option to duel her one on one where she doesn't get Unstoppable at all, but I haven't tried that route yet.

Shadowhearts planar ally, the djinn, blowing them off the edge. Sanctuary was definitely annoying at first. That and the darkness spell when fighting Viconia locking down all attacks. Man I love this game.

So the Orin fight. Not the one on one duel but the one where she immediately turns into the slayer. What exactly is the "unstoppable" mechanic going on?. She wiped me out in very short order the first two times I fought her. The third time I was able to lock her down and handle her.
If a character has a stack of Unstoppable, each attack against them will deal only 1 point of damage, and will reduce the stack by one.

A lot of late-game regular enemies seem to come into a fight with one level of Unstoppable, presumably to try to make the fight last beyond the first round.

She made him a Monk and had him run around in his underwear, cape, hat and phalar singing sword.

Monk Asterion is so much damage. Mines monk 6/rogue 2 and we're experimenting on equipment and builds. Tavern brawler strength based with gloves of dexterity hurts.

It's the signature mechanic of the Bhaal cultists. As far as I know, nobody else uses it.

Finally finished the game with my Dark Urge Wizard. No notes. I'll wait until the Enhanced/Expanded/GOTY Edition release (when hopefully they'll add the Upper City and expand on a few hanging plot threads), but I was really satisfied with the game's ending. I'm also very happy that I finished after they added Withers's epilogue party, the ending would've felt waaay incomplete otherwise.

So just left act two level 10. Got in a fight at the circus.

Wyll as pact of chain warlock 9/fighter 1
Tav level 9 Sorcerer/bard 1
Halsin as gloomstalker 6/rogue 4
Jaheira land Druid 10.

Between summons and items allowing them had a 14 being party. Earth elemental, two ice mephits, Dryad, wood woad, Us, Quoth the Raven, and a cambion via wylls infernal blade.

Long fight. Meat wall of summons/pets.

Think I could get more as well.
