Depends on the scale. 1/300th, not so impressive. 1:1 and no one can park in the driveway anymore, much more so.![]()
I'd never thought of 2:1 scale models of something like that before...

There actually are such things, although they don't always state a scale. They're often "nature" subjects IME. I had the AMT/ERTL Gigantics range when I was a kid, and they've been re-released several times since as you can see from the ad here. And yes, the scenery and fleeing victims came with them, including fold-up full-color cardboard backdrops.I'd never thought of 2:1 scale models of something like that before...
That's only if they even consider asking about the scale, which in my case is 1/35.Depends on the scale. 1/300th, not so impressive. 1:1 and no one can park in the driveway anymore, much more so.![]()
Also more impressive if you neglect to specify that it's a fish tank."I'm building a tank" sounds much more impressive than "I'm building a scale model"
As it becomes clear that life on/in Europa is probably going to be pretty underwhelming -- alien pond scum at its most dramatic -- all of the talk about how Titan, of all places, could harbor life has really got me going.
I completely agree with you except for that bolded part. Nothing about human society is set in stone or permanent for all time. Things could get better. The most maddening thing is we can change things, we just refuse to make the effort. It absolutely tickles me, that people will continue to deny the reality of how the world functions. You may not like it you may wish it was another way, you may think that it would be better if certain truth's were not absolutely undeniably true.
It doesn't matter though, because its still the way the world works and will always work. Die mad.
