D&D (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal #1: "Everything You Need To Know!"

Each day this week, Wizards of the Coast will be releasing a new live-streamed preview video based on the upcoming Player's Handbook. The first is entitled Everything You Need To Know and you can watch it live below (or, if you missed it, you should be able to watch it from the start afterwards). The video focuses on weapon mastery and character origins.

There will be new videos on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week, focusing on the Fighter, the Paladin, and the Barbarian, with (presumably) more in the coming weeks.

Yeah, so, has anybody actually written down that list of subclasses anywhere that it can be read?
There's a list on reddit, and it's pretty much what everyone expected. Everything listed in the UA 6&7 releases, except Psi Warrior replaced Brawler for the Fighter and Soulknife replaced Swashbuckler for the Rogue.

That is my objection with "inspiration" − it punishes players who prefer casters.

I wish 5e went with 4e rules where the "attacker always rolls" whether sword attack or spell attack.

Otherwise it is unfair for caster players.
Casters get the world handed to them already. A failed save has much more impact than turning a miss into a hit. Casters can already use their inspiration on spell attacks.

At lower tiers, Wizards are excessively vulnerable. Need help.

Gygaxian imbalance broken down at low tier and broken up at high tier, still influences 5e Wizard.

Inspiration needs to be useful for caster players too − or else Inspiration sucks.

I personally would love for someone to explain to me how a Wizard has less complexity than a Warlock.
Unless the warlock comes with eldritch blast and agonizing blast as default, there's more room for error with the Warlock, which presents them as equal with fire bolt and casting Bane once per long rest. Pick a crappy invocation, you're stuck with it until you level, compared to a spell that is fixed after a nap.

Every subclass that was in the playtests, minus brawler and swashbuckler, added psi warrior and soul knife.
Thank you.

Thank you.

(I do, however, want to note that "there's a list on reddit", without naming a subreddit, was an entirely useless statement.)

Counterpoint - I disagree ;)

Regardless, inspiration isn't there to make villains look like inept clowns. It impacts PC made rolls. You don't get to force enemies to reroll attacks either.
