D&D (2024) Rules that annoy you

Nah, bandaging, disinfecting and stitching can all be done under 6 seconds
Even after being stabilized a character is unconscious for 1d4 hours. Also healing HP doesn't mean healing of physical injury it can also be regaining the intangibles that make up parts of HP which can vary in time to recover.

Using healing word to get someone back into the fight is fine. I've got no problem with that. The issue I have is with someone using an action to make a DC 10 Wisdom (Medicine) check to stabilize a dying character. How do you describe that action in the fiction? What is the character making the check actually doing to stop their comrade from dying?
takes a good look and declares ‘you are not dying, it’s just a flesh wound’

Bardic Inspiration as a bonus action is another one that I find extremely difficult to describe in-game. What is the bard actually doing within the less-than-6-second timeframe implied by a bonus action? I get that it's a bonus action from a game perspective so that the player can do something besides just inspire their friend. That's fine. But at least try to have it make some sense within the context of the game world.
I am not convinced that the Bard itself makes any sense

A level 1 character is still a main character of the heroic fantasy genre. They aren't over-the-top for their genre. And it's not like they can fight an ogre or do things like that at 1st level.
I don’t think they were complaining about 1st level chars

Well, they replied to it and had no problems with it being 1st level characters. Perhaps let them talk for themselves, as opposed to you guessing (incorrectly) what their intentions were and then trying to correct someone else based on things that only existed in your head.

As for being able to stabilize someone from dying within 6 seconds, regardless of what dropped them, I see this as mechanically restricting what injuries look like.

If someone gets dropped to 0 by a black dragons breath, they're only a half dissolved pile IF they die instantly due to massive damage. Otherwise they're dying but fixable.
