Because a big company decided they didn't want to use it anymore.Because a big company told us to stop using that word.
Probably so they could watch us argue about it.

The world would be a better place if that is what motivated companies.Because a big company decided they didn't want to use it anymore.

It is a revised edition. The fact that WotC is too afraid of the consequences of admitting this plain and simple fact does not, in any way, diminish that it is the plain truth.
Isn’t a revised edition a new edition? It says that it's a Revised Edition of 5e right on the cover. How is that WotC "refusing to admit it"?
But "they" did, though. People just like to ignore what they don't want to hear or they can't complain as much. Well, they can complain, but their argument is undermined. It's simple logic really. "you" said it and "they" didn't so "you" must be wrong.![]()
It's a cruel world. But "they" did, though. People just like to ignore what they don't want to hear or they can't complain as much. Well, they can complain, but their argument is undermined.
I mean, this has been gone over a thousand times. There are two uses of the word Edition in play.Isn’t a revised edition a new edition?
That's an interesting linguistic shift. In fact, we were not talking about new games, but new editions of the same game. The video games I play will tell you what edition they are to the third decimal point.
In your opinion. That wasn't what was asked. We are not playing a video game where a computer does all of the bits and bobs in the background. 5.5 is not a "patch" it is a core rules update that changes or modifies the entire game.
