Yeah thats gross.

I was mid call, have since missed 1 other meeting, and am missing the next. Thank you IT, for putting me behind on my entire day as I will get to play catch up now. Fantastic. I love it.
I was digitizing reel-to-reel audiotapes (which is how I know how long the job was). Probably twenty or more years old, so there really wasn't a guarantee they'd run that second time. I would have thrown the PC out of the window except A) I was on the first floor and B) there wasn't a window in the room.

The joys of tech.

(I'm beside myself, I absolutely hate this kind of disruption.)

MY BROTHERS IN CHRIST IT DEPARTMENT,

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU DO NOT NEED TO FORCE A RESTART ON MY COMPUTER JUST TO INSTALL A WINDOWS UPDATE IN THE MIDDLE OF MY DAY DURING A CLIENT CALL.

WITH HATE,

YOUR FELLOW EMPLOYEE.

If they're using a WSUS, then I'd recommend complaining. That sort of thing should be scheduled for end of day. It might just be Microsoft, however, getting them off the hook.

In our case we can send out emails until the cows come home. No one reads them and then they complain when something happens, that they should have been prepared for. Some of the worst offenders are our fellow IT folk, who think they already know everything.

We had notices, but the notice for 'its happening NOW' was roughly 10 minutes in advance, with no way out. I'm now being informed it shouldnt have happened.

LOVE IT.

Yeah, that's just criminal. If we're pushing something out, we give DAYS of notice. The only exception would be something like a major security issue.
