So are we up in arms about the unsubstantiated possibility that WotC may introduce microtransactions into their, as of yet unfinished VTT... or are we up in arms about the unsubstantiated possibility that WotC may introduce lootboxes into their , as of yet unfinished VTT... or are we up in arms about both being possibly introduced into the, as of yet unfiished VTT??
no one is up in arms about anything, the discussion is mostly in the abstract / about lootboxes and MTs in general

And don't forget that some people can't help but shout down people who voice their displeasure over something even if it has nothing to do with their ability to purchase either.

What's good for the goose and all that.

You do know that people can simply have a different opinion, right? That we're all free to express our thoughts on a subject and as long as we're respectful?

Saying people are "shouting you down" is a meaningless statement that doesn't add to the conversation, it seems to be just a way of saying "shut up if you disagree with me"

We're up in arms because in theory they could possibly maybe do something that makes the VTT something some people don't want. I think. Also, "Think of the children!"
I feel like you are more up in arms about defending WotC than we are about the topic. I do not think anyone even accused WotC of anything here

This from the person who claims says loot boxes are basically the same as gambling and should be banned for 14 year olds? When people have stated that the sale of loot boxes and microtransactions will lead to the "enshittification" of D&D and the VTT?

I have a lot of issues with what corporations do. I don't like everything WotC does. Loot boxes just aren't a big issue IMHO.

yes, this was a general statement, show me where I said that the VTT would have them. I even agreed with you that pay-to-win would not happen

When people have stated that the sale of loot boxes and microtransactions will lead to the "enshittification" of D&D and the VTT?
I saw subscriptions, I saw a general fear, but specifically MTs…

I mean, sure have a different opinion. No problem.

There will never be loot boxes for sale. And no, I don't buy "but there could be".

We're up in arms because in theory they could possibly maybe do something that makes the VTT something some people don't want. I think.

EDIT: removed bit that was a bit too sarcastic.

But why is it whenever these threads crop up, instead of just being pro-WotC, there's always these dismissive takes on people who do think there's a problem.

Saying people are "shouting you down" is a meaningless statement that doesn't add to the conversation, it seems to be just a way of saying "shut up if you disagree with me"

There's a lot of statements that are meaningless in that way. So is "Don't buy it then". So is "Businesses are in business to make money."

No it's definitely been focused around WotC, DDB and the new VTT... I was just making sure I didn't miss where the idea/suggestion/rumor that they would be adding lootboxes and/or micro-transactions originated from.
