You have an issue with me not objecting to WotC trying to make a profit on their IP?
no, no idea where you got that from… I do not even have a problem myself, and even if I did, why would I care what you think about it?

All I said is that if your players are interested in early D&D adventures, then KotB is one, but the new starter set is not really that, it is at best ‘inspired by’

If the original is somehow (while being beloved and referenced often) flawed and unacceptable for any number of reasons, why isnt Wizards just moving on and making something new?
Why must we accept all the flawed elements of something as unchanging rather than make it better? Superman was part of WW2 anti-Japanese propaganda, does this mean we should never use Superman and instead make a new superhero?

I mean fair enough! "just the superficial warm and fuzzy, we dont need accuracy and facts in our lives" pretty much is 100% on brand for our society now.
I don’t know how old you are, but I guarantee that when you were young, older people were whining about « kids these days… » and « things used to be better » and « decline of mores ».

It wasn’t true then, and it isn’t true now. Keep on the borderlands came out in 1979. If you truly believe things were better then, why are you posting on an internet forum instead of a BBS?

Doesn’t matter what you call it, people like stuff from before they were born. My home town has a WW2 nostalgia festival. Pretty sure very few of the people who attend are over 80!
That is not nostalgia. That is a very agreeable interest in history, and should be encouraged by providing access to and thoughtful analysis of the primary sources, not by showing them a modern pastiche with similar proper nouns and claiming it has much at all to do with anything in the past.
