Told you…I could be wrong. I usually am.Dictionary says: a sentimental longing or wistful affection for a period in the past.
It’s not necessarily things that you remember (although it can be).

that was not directed at WotC but at youThey aren’t - it has a different name for a start.
KotB is early days, the 2024 starter set not so much, ‘inspired by’ is the closest you will getMy players are interested in things from the early days of D&D
Nothing is being erased. The original version will be no less or more accessible than it was previously. My objection is with the eventual erasure of the actual history, replacing it with a kid friendly version

You have an issue with me not objecting to WotC trying to make a profit on their IP?that was not directed at WotC but at you
“Inspired by” is exactly what this is being presented as. WotC are making no claim that this is a reissue of the original module.KotB is early days, the 2024 starter set not so much, ‘inspired by’ is the closest you will get
no, no idea where you got that from… I do not even have a problem myself, and even if I did, why would I care what you think about it?You have an issue with me not objecting to WotC trying to make a profit on their IP?
Why must we accept all the flawed elements of something as unchanging rather than make it better? Superman was part of WW2 anti-Japanese propaganda, does this mean we should never use Superman and instead make a new superhero? If the original is somehow (while being beloved and referenced often) flawed and unacceptable for any number of reasons, why isnt Wizards just moving on and making something new?
I don’t know how old you are, but I guarantee that when you were young, older people were whining about « kids these days… » and « things used to be better » and « decline of mores ».I mean fair enough! "just the superficial warm and fuzzy, we dont need accuracy and facts in our lives" pretty much is 100% on brand for our society now.
That is not nostalgia. That is a very agreeable interest in history, and should be encouraged by providing access to and thoughtful analysis of the primary sources, not by showing them a modern pastiche with similar proper nouns and claiming it has much at all to do with anything in the past.Doesn’t matter what you call it, people like stuff from before they were born. My home town has a WW2 nostalgia festival. Pretty sure very few of the people who attend are over 80!
Source please. It’s the latter, that’s what people want.
