Yeah it was twilight sleep.

It's weird. I had some major gastro issues several years ago, and I've had a colonoscopy, and a few endoscopies. There was one time where I didn't actually fully lose consciousness. That was pretty miserable. But generally you go down, and wake up pretty easily. Feel a little groggy after but nothing like what you experience after a major surgery.

I think people have different conceptions of it, but I think human nature itself around the world is fundamentally the same (what often divides us is thinking it isn't). Not saying culture isn't also important. But I do think there is a basic humanity that everyone shares, regardless of culture
