Only in brute damage and that's debatable. More utility than Barbarian, heal themselves and can do range and melee better.
Barbarian is better at what Barbarians are suppose to do - be the reckless frontline tank, which does mean that role is diminished for Fighters who are more generalist Strikers.

Not sure atm who makes a better Archer and Skirmisher

Archer probably ranger or battlemaster fighter. 20 dex and Sharpshooter +heavy weapon master for fighter.

Ranger doing ranger things.

Skirmisher probably monk.

So at levels people generally play at what do you think the top 4 and bottom 4 classes are 2024? The other ones are some where in the middle.

I'm not sure myself. I think I have 3/4.

Bard
Cleric
Sorcerer

Bottom 4 not sure but probably 2/4

Ranger
Rogue

None are bad if it was a tier list B to S for the most part. Rogue might be C maybe.

Druids probably the weakest primary caster, Warlocks really good heavily front loaded as well. Barbarians the best martial for brute damage but I'm thinking fighters more useful overall perhaps. Paladin traditionally I would put top 4 but it has been nerfed. Wizard takes to long to ramp up and it's power is more towards the higher levels imho so 1-10 it's outclassed by other casters.

Anyway I'm thinking it over and beyond the 5 listed above (just imho as well) what are your thoughts?

What is the metric you are comparing by? Combat? all 3 pillars? Fun to play?

If you are looking at all 3 pillars I don't think anything is competitive with Bard if you are looking at single class builds and only considering class abilities.

Overall not just damage or whatever. Barbarians and Fighters tuned very good for that and switch on early.

Worst at what?

If you consider all 3 pillars of play and the 3-5 roles within each of them, the top 3 classes from level 1-10 are the "expert classes"

Ranger
Rogue
Bard

As they can excellent at 2 pillars and fill at least 3 roles in those pillars with little cost.

The bottom 3 is dependent on what you emphasize

Single pillar? The Warriors- Barbarian, Fighter, and Monk really only can fight at low levels. And they can role-locked. They can only fight well in the method of their build until post level 11.

Cost? The Priests- Cleric, Druid, and Paladin don't have the resources to do a lot without leaning on subclass or getting to post level 11 play to get a ton of spell slots.

The Mages- Sorcerer, Wizard, and Warlock can be build for multiple pillars and roles depending on spell choice. But they are hit harder by focusing that the Experts.
