D&D (2024) I am so torn [UPDATE: I bought it]

From the specific perspective of WotC supporting 3rd parties and open gaming, it actually is a show of good faith.

I want to be clear: the only thing about WotC that has me angry is the OGL issue. I don't care about layoffs, I don't care about AI, and I don't even care about Pinkertons. My sole issue with their corporate practices is how they tried to undermine the OGL and Open Gaming in general.
I'll never understand why people care about this.
If they make things you like, buy those things. If not....buy other things.

Does it really matter if they have low interest if it gets released eventually? Is there a timeframe that is too late?
is there a timeframe in which it is needed at all? No idea, but yeah, the sooner the better, the longer it takes the less it is needed

If anyone out there wants to back-convert the 2024 materials to an OGL system (and yes, there are products out there which do this for extant 5E OGL materials), then you need them under the OGL.
I'm missing something here. What is stopping you doing this? Is there something in the OGL that stops you?

You might want to define what you think a hard-core D&D player is. I mean, this hard-core D&D player disagrees with your statement. Though I might agree with you if you clarified what your definition is.
What's your definition? I'm thinking people who put a lot of mental effort into how the rules work and what they mean.

The presence or lack thereof of an appropriate SRD does affect what people can publish, and therefore what people can buy.
