Wheel of Time S3

It was a definite theme in the novels that the Forsaken were fundamentally broken and incapable of working together properly...and that was on purpose from the Datk One's side.
This had only been hinted at in the show up until now, but this last episode showed it very explicitly, with Liandrin's group getting conflicting orders from Lanfear, Rahvin, and Moghedien, with the Black Ajah sisters (spectacularly unsuccessfully) trying to play the Forsaken off of each other.

Some people level it as a criticism of the books ("these guys are stupid, this would never work!"), but I rather feel that is missing the point: the Forsaken and Darkfriends are buffonish narcissists who don't work together. That's the point, that's what evil is (also rings true with my experience of corporate life, the banality of evil).

My corporate experience is the opposite, it’s the good ones who never have their s### together.

In my experience, it is neither who do. Which is, also, a major theme of the novels.

Robert Jordan said that he really wanted to capture the problems people have communicating with each other, and he dis...in detail...

Not able to watch the last two episodes on my own TV, as I'm not currently home, so this penchant for poor lighting is really annoying me. Literally half the time I have no idea what's happening. Come on, people! Light your scenes!

Yeah I haven’t seen anything like this since GoT final season.

Strange thing, but the scenes have looked great on my TV, and poorly lit night scenes are one of my ultra pet peves in modern television.
On this crappy hotel TV there were whole scenes of essentially black screen. Next to bad sound, bad lighting is my biggest pet peeve. You have to consider your medium and not all TVs are created equally.

While it didn't have the same emotional impact for me that 4 and 6 this season, I really admire what a well executed battle this was on screen. Some big changes from what I remember from the books, will be interesting to see how that plays out.

There are some controversies in there this week. Loial being a big one. Battle was done well. Smaller than I expected but well done. Getting a bit tired of Alana going down again. I almost expect her to say in a cockney accent “can everyone stop getting shot.”
