"Brevity is the soul of wit." -HamletA lot of people try to mask the simplicity of their main point with walls of text or gussy it up with ten-dollar words. The vast majority of posts come down to “I like it” or “I don’t like it” but people seem compelled to make giant posts with dozens of arguments and sub-arguments. It leads pretty quickly to nitpicking sentence-by-sentence replies.
I agree, many long and convoluted arguments are usually worthless. I have friends, that can type very fast, and create long documents, which they do at work. It is more towards obscuration I feel, than to convey a point.
