I was pretty sure that Lucas's contract with Disney stated the original would never again see the light of day, so this is more than a little interesting. A public showing would undoubtedly require the copyright holder's permission.

When someone uses a word over and over that shows they like saying the word but don’t really understand its meaning and usage.

Every gaming thread is heavy lately. Which is fine, really -- it's not my place to tell people what mood they should have! But I'm trying to prep and research The Wild Beyond the Witchlight which is at least supposed to start with a sense of whimsy and wonder before getting dark and twisted. It's giving a strong sense of cognitive dissonance.
It's a good impulse, though. The Great Depression was the heyday of the upbeat Hollywood musical. I think your group will enjoy the respite.

I think unless there's actual proof that it's an urban legend.
Yeah, if the quarterly profits get bad enough, I think Disney will be thrilled to break out a very expensive reissuing of the original cut, starting with a theatrical release, followed by expensive physical releases, along with all of the other stuff they can possibly sell around it.

I just finished running that - I had the Beadle & Grimm's Silver Edition of it. My group enjoyed it.

I am not sure about calling it "dark and twisted". That was not our experience of the thing.

Yeah, some of my prep is changing some of the design decisions. Especially the ending...
The final confrontation in the Palace of Heart's Desire seems weird, like it was repurposed maybe from a different module. I've been thinking of replacing it with the Carnival from Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft. It already has a tie to Zybilna, and would make great sense for the Hourglass Coven to stash her there, especially if they told Isode what really happened to her. I like some of the elements of the Palace of Heart's Desire, but I'm considering relocating them.

Right now, I'm overhauling some many of the attractions of the Witchlight Carnival. I don't like when they boil things down to a single skill check; I'd rather there was something for players to actually action or do. A few of the attractions are just really badly designed; for example, I could see the roller coaster causing some characters to die before they even really get into the campaign.
