Spoilers Doctor Who s15 (or 2) [[spoilers!]]

Also, and this is by no means anything close to conclusive... Fifteen is probably the Doctor who varies his outfits the most, but they all tend to be stylish and colorful. But this Doctor was dressed all in plain white. That might be a hint that not everything is on the up-and-up.
Hmm I hadnt picked up on that detail (probably because of all the costume changes) but the Doctor being in white and Mrs Floods white coat at the end of last season do make a possible link. Also considering that despite the death of Sutekh we are still getting stories of the "gods of chaos"

Could Mrs Flood indeed be the White Guardian - the god of Order?

The issue is Kate doing so is presented as a good thing.

Really? Ruby tasers the monster to stop Kate and everyone looks at Kate in horror at the end. She has obviously gone too far and I'm pretty sure that this is going to come up in later episodes. I can very easily see that UNIT is going to be the cause of, or related to the cause of, the problems in this season.

Another thing I thought of: it would have been nice to have a nod to the ex-Companion support group we saw at the end of Chibnall's run. I thought that was a neat idea. We don't need to see it, but it'd be nice to have it brought up.

That came after the show said anyone who criticizes UNIT is the same as Conrad and after that happened we got the scene with Conrad and maybe The Doctor where The Doctor talks about how they're saving lives.

If the showrunners wanted to do an episode about how conspiracy theorists are awful they should have had the target not be an actual conspiracy.

UNIT is an actual conspiracy. It has secret prisons, covers up threats to the public, has committed genocide at least once (against the Silurians), operates out of a tower with a super-laser in a heavily-populated area, employs child soldiers, etc. Then this episode proved they're incompetent and prefer threatening the public to earning the public's trust.

And from what I can see online apparently the UNIT corruption plotline is not going to be resolved on the show and instead will take place on the UNIT spinoff.

Which makes sense. They are spinning off UNIT (like they did with Torchwood) and planting the seeds for the plotline. Like Torchwood, it hopefully is a more adult show where there were virtually no good guys.

After all, in Torchwood, in the first episode, one character roofies two people for sex. It's not like the Torchwood characters were angels.

Torchwick managed to avoid being tied too closely to Doctor Who and more specifically The Doctor so you weren't constantly questioning why he's not involved.

UNIT is way too closely tied to The Doctor for it to work.

Why? Other than a couple of episodes, UNIT virtually never appears in Doctor Who - well Nu-Who anyway. Obviously Old Who was a bit different.
But, they've been pretty clear that UNIT is involved in lots of stuff without the Doctor.

Presumably the Geneva HQ of the United Nations, who oversees UNIT.

The actual United Nations told BBC they werent allowed to use United Nations for Unit anymore, so I was surprised when they referenced Geneva.

Either theyve resolved something or its just a sneaky nod in order make UNIT International again (leaving Torchwood as UK specific)

or the Disney money is making them bold

Suspension of disbelief since the current Doctor's been so heavily involved.
