Well there is one thing here that will certainly be house ruled at our table . 😝

The new designs are a mixed bag for me. I don't really like warforged looking less "earthy", but if that artillerist is a shifter, that hits the mark for me.

It mentions that the shifter, changeling, and kalastar are different from previously printed versions. I wonder what's changed? I hope shifters have access to all the different shifts now.

It seems they are playing around with more Art Nouveau. especially with the warforged. It's not a deal breaker but I'm not a fan. Going forward, Eberron will probably be my default go to. I want to embrace more of that pulp/noir vibe and I am happy to hear they are providing guidelines to support those campaign styles.

I mean you can do that already with pretty much any D&D setting but I prefer to wear those influences on my sleeve so to speak.

The lower price point somehow makes me uneasy. It makes me worry that there won't be much here beyond an update to 5+ ed.
That's probably what it is but it's sort of a lose/lose for WotC. Some people will want a whole new book so all the information is one place (one reason a "core" book from a 3 pp usually sells better) while others don't want to re-buy lore they already have (as Eberron always starts in the same year and never advances the timeline.)

I got excited about there being five species for a moment (what's number five? goblin? gnoll?) but then I remembered there was going to be a Khoravar species which is also cool, but I'd wish they'd be more adventurous with the "monstrous" species in Eberron. It's the perfect setting for it but they just do not ever seem to want to commit.
I don't know what Khoravar are, but this image from the other article on this sure looks like playable gnolls to me:

The third race (on the right) are probably Inspired and this is to represent the three genres of Eberron adventure (pulp, noir, intrigue).

My guess is this is Boromar clan halflings (aka the Mafia), Znir pact gnolls (mercenary from Drooam) and Inspired from Sarlona.
