TaranTheWanderer
Legend
I’m back from camping and came home to lots of stuff I need to deal with. I’m catching up to the threads and will get a post up in the next couple of days.
It's more than that. They both have "erri" in the middle. Also, Merrick's player is named Taran. Once I realized the confusion that might cause, I was tempted to rename him, but it was too late!Heh, I once wrote Terrin for Merrick but fixed it before posting. Must be the two Rs.
Terrin is a great name, regardless how it's spelled! Never change!!!It's more than that. They both have "erri" in the middle. Also, Merrick's player is named Taran. Once I realized the confusion that might cause, I was tempted to rename him, but it was too late!
I was imagining a fighting retreat like @FitzTheRuke described, falling back into the storeroom so we could close the portcullis and somehow jam the crank to hold it closed while we escape. Lorent (@Neurotic) doesn't seem to want to run away just yet, but Terrin was getting hammered where he was, so it seemed like the right choice to disengage and move back to a position where (hopefully) he doesn't have to spend his action every round healing himself to stay standing. There's no guarantee that's worked yet. The drow (DM) seems to agree that it's a good idea to begin planning a way out. Of course, if you all feel like continuing to chip away at the opposition, Terrin is happy to support those efforts however he can.OK team, are we retreating to throw ourselves into the well up north? Or are we fighting? Cause we can't do both.
It has the portcullis, so we could theoretically prevent them from following us in there right away, and the door probably leads somewhere, not to mention the sewer which maybe isn't somewhere we want to go, but still is a way out.Storeroom is potentially blind ally
Yeah, that was a mistake. I have no idea what the range is of their breath weapon.- and you retreating was fine in-game - you just got in reach of short-range spell instead of staying out.
It's just two rounds. He failed the saves, but I lost concentration. I don't really have a way to just kill someone. It would be roll to hit and maybe do some damage. Then he wakes up.Lorent also isnt' great for melee, but I'm holding for now.
You probably should've killed the guy while he was sleeping - not in character, I know, but with the spell offering save every round...that is the best follow up action![]()
I know, but it is auto-crit. Not relevant, IC Lorent wouldn't do it either (we're good guysIt's just two rounds. He failed the saves, but I lost concentration. I don't really have a way to just kill someone. It would be roll to hit and maybe do some damage. Then he wakes up.
I also don't think it would have been optimal given the situation. Siobhan is only about thirty feet away from where he was sleeping. The noise of making an attack might have alerted her, and I might have missed like I did when I attacked him while he was still prone. If I did hit, it would be at most 13 points of damage, and the guy has 16, so he'd wake up in any case, wasting my spell, and we'd have enemies on both sides of us. So I kept him asleep as long as I could and attacked someone else with advantage when combat started. Maybe I could have found something else to do that wouldn't have resulted in my getting attacked and having my concentration broken so soon, but hindsight is 20/20.I know, but it is auto-crit.
