How do we know a PG rated BG3 wouldn't have sold even better?

I seriously doubt that a PG-rated BG3 would have sold as well. A huge factor that drew so many non-DnD gamers in was the whole "you can do anything you want!" aspect. Obviously this is the norm for actual TTRPGs (to a far greater degree than is true for BG3), but BG3 goes so far above and beyond what is normal for a video game in terms of allowing the user to choose the direction the story goes in - I just don't see how you can achieve anything close to the masterclass that they provided while restricted to only PG-rated outcomes.

Obviously no one has evidence to prove or disprove a hypothetical question though, and all anyone can ever do is speculate.

Exactly, that's all I was saying. Speculation is not proof.

Personally, I don't think TTRPG's and Video games are an exact match for audience, etc...
Adult content in a game where it's all scripted in advance, that can be turned off at any time is very different to similar content in a TTRPG space. IMO.

It wasn't me speculating. You did it first and are trying to pkay ah gotcha.

Most of the big RPG games are aimed at more mature audiences. Several are explicitly R18.

So my speculation also took that into account.
