The problem is, of course, by all reports they're pretty crap cars in some important ways.
It's clearly designed in large part by you know who, with engineers running along behind trying to make up for things like the absolute terrible visibility with technology, which in turn, is often not ready for prime time. (Anyone remember the live demonstration of the "bulletproof" windows?) So it's just problems on problems.

He's an "engineer."

The thing with many of these luxury car brands as status symbols is that the people buying these cars don't realize - they're not even really symbols of wealth anymore. Like, I'm not impressed that someone has a Cybertruck, or a BMW, or an Audi. They're becoming fairly ubiquitous. Then I saw a Bentley on the road the other day, and said "There's someone who's got money."

They're also kind of Brutalist, which is a look that really works for some people (with buildings, honestly, I'm one of them) and is just awful to others. So that sort of angular look and the fact it very much stands out from other cars is probably a selling point for some people.

I also enjoy brutalist architecture but yeah, I don't think it works for cars.

It's interesting, because I also find myself missing the era or more squared cars. Old pick up trucks with squared off angles looked sharp. I learned to drive in an early 90's Lincoln town car and I loved the long, straight lines and sharp corners on those types of luxury cars.

But the Cyber truck is just weird. Also, the really tall sloped bed sides makes no sense. How are you supposed to reach in and grab stuff from the cab end of the bed?

My guess is that it's a truck for people who really don't need a truck, which is most truck buyers, so maybe not a terrible marketing move.

I'm betting that you would love our Engineering Building.

And our Student Centre.
