Time comes for everything. Entropy always wins in the end.
The Laws of Thermodynamics boil down to:
You can't win.
You can't break even.
You can't quite the game.

Either a typo was involved, or Umbran is Danny the Street’s cousin.
Can't quite what the game? The Laws of Thermodynamics boil down to:

The entropy of typos comes for us all...Can't quite what the game?
Chad, Jordan, Georgia, Alexandria, Sydney, Austin, and Florence would like to have a word with you.Oh yeah? Well, I was Athens some years before that!![]()
I was originally going to go with Babylon or Nineveh, but since Ancient Greece was a bit before Ancient Rome, I thought that Athens fit the joke better.Chad, Jordan, Georgia, Alexandria, Sydney, Austin, and Florence would like to have a word with you.
Well, you're required (by forum rules) to tolerate it to the extent of not creating a conflict over it. But of course, that's the original purpose of this thread.
Some of the best scenes in S.M. Stirling’s To Turn The Tide, with time travelers from 21st century Vienna to the Danubian frontier during Marcus Aurelius’ reign, have modern historians in the library of a nobleman’s library, weeping as thy examine title and read works none of us now ever can.Well, other than librarians being generically hostile to destroying libraries, part of the issue there is we're pretty sure there's knowledge lost there we never did, and probably never can, reclaim.
The idea that anyone would dress every day as though they expected to get into a quickdraw contest that day seems ... just a bit ludicrous, especially given the practicality issues. After making that Buscadero style holster and belt I now understand why it wasn't actually used in the Old West. It would be useless on a horse. You're never going to be able to walk quickly in one, let alone run, as that "gunfighter" leg tie is wildly impractical for daily use. Looks OK, costume-wise, but that's about it. I've now modified the old Tandy Leather pattern to make it a cross-draw, which is more period accurate.
