The hoops I'm having to jump through to get a decent passport renewal photo taken would be a comedy of errors if it wasn't so damned frustrating.
I paid $15 for someone to take a picture of me with what looks like a circa 2001 digital camera that he then printed on crappy photo paper than I then in turn had to scan back in and which now, in a surprising coup for federal website technology, is being rejected for being too low quality of an image. (And yes, I have tried to clean it up with Affinity Photo.)
And, per the website, you cannot renew in person any more, but must do it online, or go through the much bigger pain in the butt process of applying from scratch if you have to do it in person.
