In other news, 3 weeks till holidays. I knocked out the projects I needed to, and it's time to shift to Christmas mode.

I know the fella that runs the wheel lock program for Target. I've never heard of them locking up inside the store before. Though, when I bike into work the path goes behind a mall that has a Target. There is a crosswalk for folks who live in the nearby apartments. I've seen a number of times folks get about halfway across the cross walk and the cart locks up. Its pretty funny watching them try to figure out why. Sadly, instead of just not taking carts they have been transferring their Target products into Pet Smart carts that dont have the anti-theft wheel locking devices.

One of my neighbours kept taking carts from a local dollar store and then just leaving them at the side of our row of townhouses. It got up to 5 and I had started trying to get the store to collect them when it was at 2.

At least it (the term) is a real distinct concept that has genuine impact on everyday lives (given that how much everyone and their grandma's lives are influenced by the perpetually-online community these days). So much better than years when something forgettable and unimportant like Spanx or Skibidi Toilet hits the top word lists.
