Not related to the above: I literally don't see why that putatively awesome thing would matter at all.
Attribution is super important! Eventually, the passage of time anonymizes everything -- every phrase, every story, every statue, every painting, everything. It will always eventually end with, "Oh, the giant green lady in the harbor? I think she came from overseas, maybe? Who cares?" So, I will fight to the last to try to remember who said a thing i like, or sang that song that way, or whatever. Because we only matter so long as we're remembered, and human memory is finite. And people should matter.

I know you aren't commenting on our thread here, but it's a sore point with me lately, what with the rise of AI piracy making us all irrelevant faster than entropy already was.

No real arguments, but I'm venting just a little rather than crapping in a thread; and I'm not saying what they're talking about is bad, I'm saying it's meaningless--not in the sense that TRPGs are meaningless on a suitable scale, but that I don't think it'd change how people played.

(and looking at that, it might be possible to guess what I'm talking about, I won't say more)

If you ever see someone refer to "Governance by sound-bite" then that was me, circa 1997 ;)
