In my case? It's that there are specific people who are tied to a given issue and will fight over it till the heat death of the universe.

They won't learn, they won't consider, they won't change, because their position is not one of logic, it's religious.

Any thread of appreciable length that is about a given TTRPG topic tends to devolve into a few people talking past each other ad nauseam. The person with the highest score is actually the one who bails on that thread before it turns into that.
