Need DM Advice, Shadows of the Deep (Level Up #2)

So would you then stretch the power from the one combat to the other for a total of five min? I can't remember offhand which power, I just know that the storm was going to be wearing down the pillars (and anyone else in the area) by about 5/round, and the thorn wall did damage and took +3...

    Has Lovecraft become required reading?

Goodman Games somewhat did in that they have an adventure with Deep Ones in Level Up #2 called "Shadows of the Deep" which starts off in a town called Ensmoth. It's not a perfect fit by any means, but the inspiration is clear. (and running the adventure has been great fun for me so far)

    D&D 4E Running 4E combats quickly

Totally loving the thread and the advice. :) If I can toss in my 0.02 I had a DM who found a gig that seemed to work for him, and which worked well for me also. You have each monsters stats on a sheet or card, and the same for each pc. You write init on each one, put them in order, and adjust...

Need DM Advice, Shadows of the Deep (Level Up #2)

Oh, thought I'd post pix of the foamcore/cardstock I put together for the room, the dry erase markers are filling in for the pillars, you can see the hole between them doing down to the next level, and the pools on the right from which more deep ones were arriving... Yes, I suppose you could...

Need DM Advice, Shadows of the Deep (Level Up #2)

I'm running the Shadows of the Deep adventure from Level Up! magazine issue #2 (goodman games, the $2 hardcopy with free pdf is one of the best deals ever) it's an homage to Lovecraft and has an island with a Deep One temple appearing a few miles away from a small coastal fishing town called...

Orcus of Necromancer Games says "You were right, I was wrong"

Patrick, do any of those other books have your name as the author offhand? and is there any word on when/if Hall of the Rainbow Mage will get reworked and/or the "offending" artwork removed for pdf sales I rather enjoyed your Necro work so I figured I'd ask.

    Cheating cheaters

If his players have complained, it seems that the majority of the players are united as to Not considering this situation to be fun. I've been in groups before that had problems with char sheets/scores/abilities changing from game to game... only the two who were cheating seemed to find it...

re: No 4E for Necromancer Games!

:( I was hoping to start out a 4.0 campaign with a free download adventure from the Necro guys, just like I did with 3.0 way back when. Now aside from the PHB, I'm not feeling as much drive to switch over. (don't have a lot of time to plan/prep, and the Necro adventures almost always seemed to...

re: No 4E for Necromancer Games!

You must have missed Clark/Orcus's many posts trying to calm people down who were annoyed with WotC's delays and talking about how excited he was about 4.0 and the products that they were planning to put out for it. :(

    New GSL Announcement

Cutting that thread down to 18 questions with sub questions is pretty good, and making them clear will help a lot. Looking forward to hearing responses.

    New GSL Announcement

Ummm, no. I owe the demon lords far too much to risk angering them with undeserved blame. :D So are we to guess that the interview that you were soliciting questions for is a replacement for the announcement that we were expecting today? Or am I just not looking in the right place?

    D&D 3E/3.5 Need help with a 3.0 -> 3.5 weapon conversion

I'm running The Crucible of Freya from Necromancer Games for a group, we are (more or less) using 3.5 rules, and the adventure was put out during the very start of 3.0 so there are some conversion issues. I have a weapon on a cleric of Orcus that is described as the following: Quote: +1 Evil...

Are the Scarlet bro's and Iuz holding GREYHAWK back?

I agree on this, would be nice for me as I think I might enjoy reading over it (were it written well) and it would make it easier for me to consider trying out LG.
