I was at a bookstore Friday afternoon picking up a book I
ordered. While there I noticed that they had a number of plush
Nyarlethotep toys. I couldn't pass up such a deal and bought one. I took
it with me to Maine to show my girlfriend. I did and she was suitably impressed.
After dinner she asked me to close my eyes. I heard her go out to her
car and bring something back in. She told me to open my eyes. I found
her on bended knee holding a bouquet of flowers. She said, "I've
resisted your earthly charms long enough, will you marry me?" I wisely
said yes. So my engagement has been endorsed by Nyarlethotep and the Old
Ones*. Which seems only appropriate don't you think?
