SPYCRAFT: Blood Money (The African Dream)

Kim looks around for the source of the shooting... then looks to the CPG

"On your feet soldier... time to leave..."

Kim looks for any sign of his fellow agents... and then looks for the fastest route out... he grabs the CPG jabs the pistol into his side and whispers...

"Start walking... if you cooperate you will live to see another day..."

OOC: moving towards the main doors with the CPG guy... continuing to Intimidate (+9) him and drag him along... also using him as a human shield by standing behind him with my pistol pressed against his side... I guess 1/4 to maybe half cover...

OOC: that's about all he does for this round. Ghostfox will get to act early in round 2 before the watchman get a chance to act out his orders.

((OOC:GhostFox's actions will remain the same:
1. Shoot to kill if the mook pulls a weapon or if he is already armed.
2. Shoot at the legs if the mook doesn't pull a weapon but moves towards the door.

I guess I won't have a chance to aim so I will take a READY action (full action) and let the mook make the move. Either way, it is one wide burst attack.))

OOC:

The soldier draws a weapon.

Ghostfox shoots

Target roughly 50 feet away. -4 range, +2 laser sight + 1 readied action dep bonus; -1 to usual atk bonus

ro 17 + 2 = 19 VS DC 10; hit
Damage 3

The damage roll is underwhelming, the bullets graze the soldier who reacts by diving forward.

He uses his remaining half action to flatten himself to wall. It is now impossible for you to see him unless you get your whole upper torso out through the window.

See pciture

((OOC: Just needed to clarify one thing: I thought the mook was not aware of GhostFox's presence. So a successful hit would have taken out the mook, right? Or am I misinterpeting the house rule.))

OOC Tokiwong:

I rule that forcing the soldier to move doesn't require a new intimidate check (If you roll every round it is as statistical certainty that you'll never manage to keep a bad guy at gun point for more than a few seconds!)

You get him to hustle forward. You are now about 60 feet from the exit.

Through one of the window you get a LOS on the proe soldier shooting at Steel Ronin. Not an easy shot, mind you. Soldier gets 14 to def (no dex but prone) and you get -4 due to range plus no laser sight bonus if you have one (over 50 feet).

But I thought I'd let you know. It's for next round anyway.

OOC:

He wasn't flatfooted (he acted last round).

The houserule was implemented to make sure that snipers would usually take out their target. Or that sneaking assassins could dispatch with ease an oblivious guard. Or that a charming faceman who suddenly drew a knife could kill in one strike a suprised guard (at the expense of an AD in this case)

Once a fight is in full swing, even though an opponent might still be unaware of some of his enemies, his senses are in full alert and the normal rules apply.

This is still a minion though. Not much VP. Next hit will possibly stagger him.

OOC: Not very high. About 5 feet.

But in retrospective I realize that I should have applied a penalty for Ghostfox's atk against the soldier as she must have been in an awkward firing position (She's 5'6'').

Oh, well.

Ghostfox's option to get on the other side are:

1-Climb out the window (DC 5). It would take a full action to climb out the window. It leaves her with no action and a soldier armed with a pistol 50 feet away. He, she does have a decent defense.

2-Jump out the window from where she stands. (Standing high jump DC 34!)

Damn near impossible but the jump could be part of her normal 5 feet movement and thus she could get two half action against the goon. This is bordering on Matrix style.

3-Running jump (DC 22): She could move back 20 feet, run 20 feet to the window, jump and if successful still have 20 feet of movement left to get to cover (let's assume one of those convenient dumpster that always are in back alleys)

Of course, she can do something else altogether. A run action could probably get her inside the kitchen, for example.

Oh, and she could move her upper torso through the window (1/2 action) and then shoot at the soldier.

OOC: What do you mean bad idea? My plan to empty the place worked perfectly!

Kareem yells to Jeff "Get under cover or head towards the back! My friend is back there!"

If Kareem is w/in 20ft. of the nearest thug, and has a clean shot:

Kareem closes his right eye and brings the cold black .45 up to his face, and aims the red dot on the mook's upper body. He squeezes the trigger twice, and the gun emits two fiery bursts and jumps twice in his hand. [Ranged Attack +6, d10 +2]

If Kareem doesn't have a clean shot and/or is outside his range increment:

Kareem follows the fleeing Jeff, using any cover available to shield his body. Can he make it to the door in time?

The stampede from the people inside the club reach the entrance. Roman, Kareem, Jeff and the bearded soldier are all pushed around by the mob but everyone manages to hold their ground.

[OOC :

The mob is panicking. A crowd is rushing toward the exit but as soon as they realize there is shooting oustide (it's hard to hear from inside with the music) some people try to stop while other dash madly forward. Thos who want to go back are pushed and stepped upon by those in the back who are only worried about getting away from the bomb. It's getting crazy.

Game effects; Everyone in the entrance is considered entangled. Strenght DC 5 every round to avoid falling. Strenght DC 10 to be able to move back instead of following the crowd outside. Cost double move to go back inside the club (assuming successful strenght check).

All 4 PCs And NPC made their strenght check to avoid falling.

On the positive side, the prone soldier will have to get up and move away instead of firing at Steel Ronin. He's in the way of the stampede.

Kareem, remember that Roman is struggling with a soldier barely 5 feet away from you. By your description, I'm not sure you realized that.]
