welcome

“The name One Eyed Owl? Never gave it much thought. There be a statue, I think, of an owl there. It’s got one eye, If’n I remember. I can often find my friend Drauer there. Anyway, they bake a great robber’s pie. I knows a shortcut.”

Jezibel leads the party through the bustling city. As she leads the party around another warehouse area near the docks, they find themselves in a narrow alley. It runs straight for 50 feet, with 25 foot high buildings on either side. You have crossed halfway through the ally when three figures appear at the end, blocking your exit. Behind you, you see that two other figures have appeared at the end at which you entered. From the front group a female voice calls out "Welcome to Monemvassia. We need to talk to the human girl. The rest of you should go about your business." The five figures all begin to walk towards you.

This is ominous, Nurlan thinks. Co-ordinated groups approaching from opposite directions, surrounding them, usually means danger. He looks to Jezibel for a cue; he won't leave unless she feels safe without her escort.

Charlarn thinks to himself, "Hmmm. Is this a coincidence, or could Jezibel have arranged this?"

He steps in between the female speaker and Jezibel. With a tip of his head, the priest of Phyrah asks, "May I ask, what is your business with her?"

Keeping an eye on Jezibels reaction, Irene cast Detect Magic, and will see if the group of three in front of her have any magic aura's surrounding them.

Tenebrynn makes sure that his cot is safely tucked away after spending the night to the south of the stairs, trying to stay as close to or under them as possible. Now out and about in the streets, Tenebrynn tries to loosen his muscles still sore from the long travel to reach Monemvassia. When confronted he is put in an ackward position. It is obvious to him that they should step up to protect Jezibel, so out he steps ever trying to fit the galant adventurer type despite his innate responce to back away and hide.

"I am not so sure that she wants to go with you. Lets let her decide shall we." he says, trying to sound brave.

[ooc: sorry for the extended absence, was on vacation but Im back now :)]

Jezibel's eyes widen. "They be tryin' to kidnap me!" she shouts. Irene's spell detects no magic in the direction of the three advancing figures.

Irene's actions do not go unnoticed. "They're casting spells!" shouts the one in the rear[T3], who carries no weapon but a dagger belted around his robes.

"You won't get away this time!" shouts another [T1], as he charges forward, his longsword held ready. He wears studded leather. His companion[T2], wearing leather armor and holding a rapier, charges along side him. From the rear, the other two, armed and armored identically to the ones charging from the front, charge also.

Jezibel whips out a dagger from her loose sack dress, and hurls it at one charging from the rear, missing both.

Initiative:
Jezibel (threw dagger)
Telebryn
Charlyn

Irene
Nurlan

Charlarn notes, "I guess you mean her no good. Well, we won't allow that." With that, he brandishes his shield (move action), raises his holy symbol with his right hand and casts bless (standard action).

My allies and I gain a +1 morale bonus to attack rolls and saves against fear.

Spells remaining
0–light, virtue (2);
1–bless, magic weapon, sanctuary*

Round 1

Telebryn & Charlyn cast their spells as the thugs charge.

T1 swings his longsword at Nurlan, striking him a viscious blow for 5 pts dmg. T2 stabs at Telebryn with his rapier, which deflects at the last instant from the elf's hastily erected armor. T5 stabs Charlyn with his rapier, which glances off the heavily armored cleric. T4 slashes at Jezibel with his longsword, but she deftly dodges.

Should Charlyn get an AOA on T4 even though he was casting a spell?
