TURTLEDOME!: Battle Bone (DM: KenHood, Judge: Lord S.)

[sblock=Kalashtar?]What's the Kalashtar? I was thinking of a Chaladin too because with a high wisdom and charisma your healing hands could help as a backup healer.

Only thing that sucks is a not maxed out con, but a high AC could balance that out. Just playing a half-elf Pally with str 11, con 14, dex 10, int 9, wis 14, cha 20 should work, with a str of 10 you have a heavy load way too easily.

Still thinking of doing a cleric though with a roguish streak... We'll see what I end up doing though, liking the wizard just want to build up some more crowd control abilities and need to have a better will resistance.[/sblock]

Kalashtar: Eberron race. Basically human with a psionic spirit that makes you pretty and gives you telepathy. Wis/Cha race, 5 square telepathy. (incidently, races with stats that share a defence seem to get more powerful racial abilities: eladrin get teleport; goliaths get attack and HP stats, which is huge in general).
It's in the CB.

Cleric Rogue: cool, but keep in mind MAD: Wis/Cha/Con for cleric, Dex, Cha, Str for rogue. Well, wis/cha/dex rogue, so not too bad.

Paladin is great if only for the armor and the weapons. And, the Chaladin can really mark the heck out of someone! My home came saw my barbarian eaten by a gelatinous cube, but the Chaladin's mark basically fried the sucker; I don't know if them engaging means melee, or if a crossbow would suffice to keep the challenge going. [/sblock]

[sblock=Chaladin]Here is the text regarding it, so it looks like you could use a ranged attack to engage, doesn't specify otherwise.

"On your turn, you must engage the target you challenged
or challenge a different target. To engage the
target, you must either attack it or end your turn adjacent
to it. If none of these events occur by the end of your turn,
the marked condition ends and you can’t use divine challenge
on your next turn.
You can use divine challenge once per turn."[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]All the character building talk has inspired me to get serious about Finnian's overhaul again. I'm going to shift to a STR-based melee build and try warhammer and throwing hammer to bring in the blacksmith backstory. Maybe I can even get it done before the final battle.[/sblock]

FInnian sees Drivan fall and rushes over to help his companions. Erlai follows.

An alligator? From a jar?! You will.... get hurt!

Erlai attacks Earl and as the alligator turns to defend itself, Finnian steps in and swings with his bastard sword.

Synchronized Strike (Beast attack vs AC, damage, Secondary Attack vs Reflex, damage) (1d20+6=20, 1d6+1=5, 1d20+7=11, 1d10+6=13)

Emral picks up Bill's dagger. The simple, bone weapon feels strangely right in his hands. (No use of special abilities, until you identify it!)

A man, peering through the window, shouts, "Hey, Emral! A crocodile is chewing on Vaunea's legs. That's totally lame!"

"Yeah! Laaaaaame!"

"Why is The Man not being The Man?!"

Erlai's claws rip into the hide of the crocodile (12 damage). However, the thick bone of the creature's head deflects the Sword of Five Elements.

"See, Emral?" shouts a person in the crowd, "That's how you do it!"

"Yeah, Finnian is getting in there and laying down the pain!"

You feel an oddness in your surroundings, as if all the angles in the buildings were off from some ideal point of reference. A voice speaks in your mind. "Who summons Dave, Spirit of War?"

"Oh, you."

"No, I'm certain that I am unable to pull your sorry hide out of this fiasco you call a battle. You've made far too many errors--both strategic and tactical--to recover."

"Well, that's rude. Don't blame me for giving you an honest assessment of your situation. Might I suggest you surrender?"

*sigh*

"Very well, as always, I'll do my best. I'll begin healing you immediately."

The crocodile begins a death-roll! (Standard Action: Clamping Jaws -- 29 v. AC, 13 damage) Vaunea's legs bleed profusely as flesh rips!

Another barrage of cobblestones flies through the window at the crocodile. (Standard Action: Basic Ranged Attack -- 19 v. AC. Miss!) Earl's hide resists the stones. The crocodile actually chuckles!

Uncle Mikey opens Drivan's mouth and pours in a potion. The wizard's eyes open. He's back in the fight!

The metal-nosed halfling gets another potion out of his waistcoat. He tosses it to Vaunea. "Here, catch!"

Vaunea needs to make a Dexterity check to catch the potion with a medium action...

[sblock=KenHood]Dexterity Roll = 8

Plus, could we all hear that in our heads, or was it out loud?[/sblock]

Just as Mikey lets go with the potion, the Earl rips into Vaunea's leg, causing the her eyes to water just enough to miss Mikey throwing the potion. "Mikey, help." Vaunea screams. And with that, she retaliates against the croc.

[sblock=Actions]Minor+Move = Failed to grab potion

[sblock=KenHood]If Earl does enough damage to knock me unconscious, I have a racial ability called Ferocity, which means I get an attack as I fall. If I fall, make the attack for me. I might not get to my PC for a while. Melee Basic attack:1d20+7, 1d12+4[/sblock]

You hear the words in your heads. It's not out loud.

The potion smashes on the ground. "****!" shouts Uncle Mikey.

Vaunea said:

"Will do!" shouts the metal-nosed alchemist.

Again, the tough skin of the crocodile resist Vaunea's axe!

Emral, feeling *way* better after that moment's reprieve, charges up to the crocodile, and stabs it with the new dagger he just picked up. The Chaos Bolt, a spell of psychic energies, flows out of the dagger and into the reptile's mind.

Sorry I'm late, but I had a new friend to show you!

1d20+4=16, 1d10+7=15

ooc: can I be in the same square as Erlai? is Vaunea in a separate square? Can I shoot through someone's square? gosh. I was thinking move to f9, but only if I can move the bird over or something.
If not, I'll move to flank the crocodile this round, instead.
