[sblock=OOC]I think you might be shorting yourself on your attack bonus. It should be 1/2 your level rounded down plus the relevant ability modfier, +5 in this case. This attack should be at +10 to hit, plus any relevant magic modifiers and whatnot.[/sblock]

Talashia backs up another step, next to Uulark, and unleashes another cometary blast of radiance loose upon the swarming moths...but her concentration is shaken, and the insects instinctive avoidance response is more than adequate to protect them from the explosion in their midst.

(Blazing Starfall on MS1, but rolled a crappy 17 to hit. What? Me roll badly? Shocking, I know. Either way, I shift to A 11 before attacking.)

Caerwyn stands up again, he's got more bruises on his back from all the knocks off his feet he's taken, but the paladin still continues to try and draw the pudding away from his friends.

After drawing its attention he turns back to the moth swarm, he hacks and hews with the mighty sword and manages to somehow disorient the group of moths for at least a few moments.

Caerwyn's furious rampage somehow manages to dissipate the swarm of moths as Uulark dispatches one of the smaller puddings. Another appears, however, as Rogash's bolt finds a home in large ooze's gooey flesh.

The remaining swarm of moths, though significantly smaller than before thanks to Buurt, moves to take the other's place, and again puts the paladin on his arse. The smaller puddings maneuver and lash out ineffectively, but the larger slaps Talashia and Dyspeer and holds them fast. Shai can hear his companion wimpering as the acid eats away at his flesh.

Talashia shouts in anger and pain as the blobby tendril eats away at her skirt and skin, and a tremendous lightning bolt dances over the wall, arcing down at the pudding's main mass...but perhaps due to the pain, it misses the huge beast entirely and fizzles out against the flagstones.

(Rolled a natural 1. That was my last non-at will. Frustration is more than I trust myself to make a decent post with, so I'll stop now.)
