[Adventure] The Lost Treasure of House Cannith (Judge: Evilbob)

First Post
Colgrave backs up into the stairwell, going as far as necessary to get out of the poison gas. "Might I suggest that everybody stops wantonly stepping on things?" he calls down in between hacking coughs. "One person to test out the tiles' functions will surely be quite sufficient - once we know what we're dealing with, then the rest can follow."

354b steps to the bottom of the staircase and leaps out, landing on a gold tile in the second row. As he hits the ground, that row of the floor starts to spin forward and the three standing in it start wobbling and trying to keep their feet.

354b loses balance completely and falls flat on the floor on the tile in front of his landing spot, causing flames to erupt out of it, which narrowly miss his face.

Colgrave takes several steps back out of the poisonous fog. He is now four steps up the staircase.

GM: Please allow Vertexx and Mezegis to post. Actions will occur in the order they post in. For the purposes of turns/rounds ending, this is not considered their turn as it is a reaction to 354b's turn. Thank you.

[Sblock=Mechanics]The tiles in row D rotate forward causing players to lose balance. Acrobatics checks:

Karananak: 1d20+1=20 - Please see below sblock for you.
Thalin: 1d20+5=23 - Please see below sblock for you.
354b: 1d20+4=7 - He falls prone on the square in front of him (E2) causing that tile to trigger.

Fire Jet: 1d20+5=7 vs. Reflex on 354b is a miss.
Poison Gas: deals 5 poison damage to 354b for ending his turn in the cloud.

[sblock=Reminder Regarding turns]A player's turn is considered ended when one PC acts twice before the player has acted at all. Acting for the purposes of this turn counter involves taking any action (unless it's a reaction, which would be noted in any powers or my GM text) other than talking.

I apologize for forgetting to put this in the initial rules I posted for the area. I hope my reminders will be helpful instead.[/sblock]

[sblock=Karananak]As a result of your spectacular athletics you have an option in where you land. You may either retain your balance on your current square, or land on one of the open squares in column E. If you look down as you are trying to stay upright, you notice a flash of green under your feet.[/sblock]

Thalin wobbles as his tile spins beneath him. I agree Colgrave, perhaps our more nimbler members may wish to try their hand at crossing in hopes that an off switch is found. Regaining his balance he turns and makes ready to jump back to their starting location. Perhaps someone should press the purple tile and we can see what that one does. It seems each color has an effect, we could retreat slightly and formulate a plan of attack before we all become dizzy, poisoned, charbroiled, and most likely dead.

[sblock=OOC]Thalin does not move.[/sblock]

Thalin steadies himself where he stands as the rotation finishes. At that moment, a jet of fire erupts beneath his feet, burning him seriously.

GM: Please allow Vertex to post next, pursuant to his sblock in my last post.

GM: I think it is safe to infer that, yes, since that is what just happened to Thalin. Technically Karananak and Thalin's reactions happen simultaneously, but do to the nature of PbP you get a bit of that insight. :)
