[Adventrue] Lord Ogglebottoms Odd Tasks II: The Mysterious Imlach Island

Minharath has no desire to climb anything. I'd like to tie the rope into a crude harness and lower him. Min's fully aware of his lack of athletic ability of any sort.

I'll throw some dice out, you decide what they mean, okay? I'm afraid my trying to do things clever is taking to long at this point. My apologies for the slowdown.

[Sblock=Rolls]I don't know Leonard's athletics or initiative modifiers. Thorn has an athletics of +12, while Minharath's is -1 (If you decide to attribute those rolls to athletics. Do whatever you think appropriate with them. Here are links to Thorn & Minharath's Character Sheets.

Also, I forgot to apply the -5 to Initiative.[/sblock]

Thorn grabs hold of the rope offered by Minharath and stands firm as the holy man climbs down. As Minharath reaches the bottom safely, the sudden change in weight throws Thorn off balance, sending him sliding down to the floor below. In his attempt to find a handhold to slow his decent, he grabs a hold of Leonards leg, causing the boy to plummet to the floor below also.

A loud high pitched shriek is heard from the darkness beyond and dozens of similar responses can be heard some nearby, others echoing from further away. The air is suddenly filled with a strange odor, slightly sweet, slightly acidic - certainly an ominous sign of what lies ahead in the dark.

[sblock=OOC questions for DM]
- I don't see a reference grid on the map you supplied.
- Would our landing/falling locations be the same as the locations you put us on the first map?
- Did Thorn take any damage from that fall? Is that accounted for in his status?

Ah crap. OK I'll try and get co-ordinates up tomorrow. I did not apply any damage yet to Thorn or Leonard - you can roll those if you'd like. Locations are as they are on the map, just those who fell are now prone.

Thorn moves up to the edge of the worked stone wall and peers around the corner. As his eyes adjust to the dim light he can see sitting in the center of the chamber the largest kruthik he has ever seen. The ground around it seems to be shaking and moving slightly. A moment later he realizes that it is not the ground that is moving, but in fact a swarm of very small kruthik, each perhaps no larger than the size of his fist, but there are hundreds of them all over the floor of the chamber. In the distance you can see more kruthik quickly approaching down the connecting tunnels. The large kruthik raises her head slightly and his approach......

[sblock=OOC]
Sorry for the delay - I am so busy that I can not even think of a suitable comment on the matter......

Yes we are. I was hoping that they would have posted along with Thorn before I did a map update, but after waiting for a week I decided that they must be waiting for a map update first, so I updated the map. I do hope that they post soon.

OOC: Sorry all, I somehow missed the update (I usually open all the threads in tabs and read over them in the morning and occasionally I get distracted by collegues or something breaks in the browser and the threads gets marked as read My bad. [MENTION=55230]DMDanW[/MENTION], you may consider using mentions by adding @ in front of username like I did for you just now. I pay attention to notifications.

Martelai comes behind Thorn and after seeing the situation quickly curses two swarms.
"This is good position, Thorn don't rush off, Zharne, Gloom, Gellan, one of you should back up Thorn so you can exchange places. Other two go there and try to keep them from flanking us. Let's hope there isn't too many of them and that our smell will slow them somewhat. Does anyone know what that beast is capable of?"

[sblock=Tactics]
I suggest pairs of melee fighters get to B-3 and D or E -3 and hold it for a time. Then one retreats, the other takes his place and first one can second wind or support.
[/sblock]
[sblock=Actions]
Move: B-4
Minor: curse swarm at B4
Minor: cuse swarm at E4
