And she ducks down and heads for the ruined gate, scurrying from tree to shrub to rock to try to keep out of sight from the city as she goes!

"SACHI," whisper-shouted Fastus, grabbing her before she went too far! Then he pointed, eyes shiny with excitement: "Let's go peek over the fence instead." Less chance of being spotted that way, right? "I'll boost you."

Elsbeth quietly looked around the area while Sachiko boldly looked over the fence. If something killed the goblins or scared them away, it must be something large and dangerous.

"Any idea what happened to the goblins? Shouldn't there be some around or are they nocturnal?"

Wireth shrugs his shoulders, cracks his neck, and moves forward slowly, letting the stealthy tiny human have room to take advantage of her natural sneakiness without being too far from backup.

Nearby, a large, algae-filled pool on the northeastern side breaks the palisade and allows a clearer view into the village’s interior, which consists of a collection of ramshackle huts connected by wooden walkways, all built on thick wooden stilts.

You see no goblins at all.

Wireth frowns at the sight of an apparently empty village.

"I don't like this at all," he whispers. He bites his lower lip, thinking, a move which actually manages to slightly accentuate his small lower fangs, then nods.

"We should clear the place while we can. If there are stragglers from whatever happened here, we question them, maybe get some ears. If not, there may still be clues. Anything that knocks down a goblin door like that, though, I want to know as much about it as I can before we wind up running into it ourselves."
