D&D 5E (IC) Vault of the Dracolich (Dispensables)

Sesto decides to engage in battle with the troglodyte that appeared through the darkness and carefully walks along the edge of the pit. He stops short off the ugly monster. The monsters stench brings tears to Sesto's eyes and he starts retching.
Gathering strength, Sesto lifts his mighty mace and attempt to strike the troglodyte.

OOC: Attack and damage with mace and Bless: 1D20+1D4+4 = [15]+[3]+4 = 22, 1D6+2 = [1]+2 = 3
I make a Con save vs Stench at start of my next turn, right?

Pyrus feels fury engulf him as he is attacked yet again. Instead of attacking the visible one, which should be engaging with one of the others soon, Pyrus takes aim at one of the Trogladytes in the dark, being able to see them perfectly fine as they stumble in the darkness.

OOC: Action: Energy Beam at a random enemy in the Darkness. I assume they'll have disadvantage on the saving throw. DC 13 dex saving throw or take [roll0] fire damage.

Affected by: Bless | Conditions: None[/sblock] With the billowing cloud of darkness summoned by Pyrus giving them some breathing room, Devan turned his attention to the troglodyte that Sesto had engaged. Muttering a few arcane words and waving his free hand, he inflicted a sacred curse upon the slimy creature and then evoked an eldritch blast immediately afterward.

If they could just quickly dispatch the few enemies that were visible, then perhaps the spell-slinging Inquisitor could finally turn his power upon the serpent in the pit to aid Bobranthus. They needed the barbarian's big head back on level ground to help block the javelins that were being thrown at the rest of the party.

Round Two

As Bob does epic battle down in the pit, (again narrowly avoiding the snake's attempt to crush him while battering away at it), the battle continues above.

After balancing along the narrow ledge beside the pit, Sesto lands a moderate blow to a Trog, who draws a steel blade and slashes back at him.
Sesto steps back to avoid the blade; too close to the pit, as another Trog bursts out of the darkness, ducking it's head, it plows into his chest...

Pyrus and Devan launch spells at the Trogs, who desperately avoid them. Pyrus side-steps a javelin, which imbeds itself in the gravel floor.

Pyrus can see that, while confused, the Trogs slowly begin to find the limits of the Darkness bubble, realize that it doesn't hurt them. One by one, they begin to work their way back to the sound of battle.

GM: Sesto must roll Athletics or Acrobatics vs dc22(!) or fall in the pit. If Sesto avoids falling in the pit, he will have to roll a dc12 Con Save vs Trog Stench or.. be poisoned (I think - at any rate have disadvantage on attacks).

[sblock=Rolls]

vs Pyrus
Trog Dex Save: 1D20-1 = [19]-1 = 18
(Success - AFAICT Blindness does not give Disadvantage on Dex Saves. Odd, I know.)
Trog Javelin: 1D20+4 = [5]+4 = 9
1D6+2 = [4]+2 = 6
(Miss)

vs Bob
Snake Constrict: 1D20+6 = [9]+6 = 15
2D8+4 = [3, 2]+4 = 9
(Miss)

vs Sesto
Trog Slash: 1D20+4 = [4]+4 = 8
1D8+2 = [5]+2 = 7

Pit Fall: 2D6+1D10 = [1, 4]+[9] = 14

OOC: I agree with it in principle, but I can't find any reference to that in any rules.
You have advantage on attack rolls against blind targets, but nothing I can find says anything about saving throws.
Let's discuss it in OOC.

Affected by: Bless | Conditions: None[/sblock] Grumbling in displeasure at his own shoddy aim, Devan realigned his focus by keeping his troglodyte target squarely in view this time. "I'm not missing again," he vented. Seething with sorcerous power, he launched another shimmering bolt of force at the scaly guard Sesto had already struck.

With only one of the enemy down and more finding their way out of Pyrus's pall of darkness, time was running out. The party needed to reduce the troglodytes' numbers quickly or else the creatures might perservere through sheer attrition. In apprehension, thoughts of tactically retreating began formulating in Devan's head.

The stench is horrendous and it makes Sesto's blow to the troglodyte weak but the aim is still good. The troglodyte retaliates with a sharp blade but his aim is not good as Sesto dodges. Sesto forgot how close to the edge of the pit he was and looses his balance slightly, but manages to stay up.
Then, out of the darkness, Sesto can feel a great shove into his side as another troglodyte slams into him. Sesto tries hard to withstand the push but looses his footing and slips into the pit. At this point Sesto starts to regret his decision to rush into battle as he falls flat on his back in the pit.

Hahaha! This was my intention too... but the reverse, obviously!

Pyrus conjures a ball of fire in his hand, and hurls it at a Trog, preferably one still in darkness, otherwise, it doesn't matter.

OOC: Produce Flame Attack:[roll0]
Damage: [roll1]
