D&D 5E [IC] Creamsteak's Storm King's Thunder: Waterdeep

Gul was already awake and invigorated when the knock on the door confirmed his suspicions. He grabbed his shield, casting a rueful eye on his armour, which lay on the ground. Fortunately he had other, more arcane contingencies for situations like this, being highly defensive by nature.

Mentally debating with himself, he then grabbed the adamantine Staff of the Vonindon, reasoning that was simply too valuable to be left lying around unguarded.

"Oh, aren't you a little old to be a page?" he remarked unthinkingly as he saw the woman outside the room.

"Uh, sorry, name's Gul" he continued as he stepped past her and on towards the noise. As he moved, he weaved, and silently, without warning, three duplicate images of him appeared. The effect was eerie to see, confusing and disorienting and unnatural.

OOC: @Creamsteak, is it acceptable for a paladin to sleep in his armor? Donning heavy armor takes 10 minutes as per the rules, so it would make sense for a warrior to sleep in his armor in a hostile area or while traveling

A page? Willow doesn't bother to yell her name back.

Whatever was going on outside doubtless had something to do with these strange birds, and it wasn't her business. She'd wake the second, make sure Ruckus was alright, and go back to sleep.

She slams a closed fist against the second door, yelling, "Your gnome friend wants you outside!" She doesn't wait for a response before heading out.

OOC: In this case I think it's your call. The party already has like 3 reasons to be on alert.

OOC: Great, thanks. Armor it is. He only takes it off to wash, and readily puts it back on, unless otherwise specified.

Davaros wakes and wastes no time. He grabs his sword, that was waiting for him on his chest as he slept, and follows the voice, assuming that he was going to see Bell somewhere. He stops and stares at the new gnome for half a second; Another one? Where do these things come from anyways? he thinks to himself. He regains his composure, and recognized the diminutive humanoid as a potential ally and says laconically: "Where to?"

OOC: Willow knows gnomish, but she's a human. As a cleric of Eldath she spends a lot of time in forests. :)

Willow's already halfway down the hall, but she turns back to the stranger. "Out front. Afraid I don't know more than that; I was just conscripted to wake you and didn't exactly get a chance to say no."

She heads down the stairs and out toward the stables.

OOC: Easy mistake to make :)

"I'm Willow, by the way," she calls back from the stairs. After the gnome's abrupt departure and the mage's unfortunate remark she hadn't given this third stranger much of a chance, but that was unfair. She stops and waits for him to catch up. "Apologies for my rudeness. It's been an odd night."

Bellalalalalinda runs out the door, hopping on one foot for a few steps as she tries to re-string her short bow.

"Where to, Whist?" she asks the great mound of fur racing past her.

Two beastly crook-nosed green-skinned boil covered trolls try to pull apart the stable doors. Whistler gestures towards as much.
