Kurzon & Udit

The guard fighting Kurzon turns to flee as Udit fires his bow. Kurzon raises his sword to swipe at him, and Udit's arrow clangs off the blade. The guard runs free, escaping around the corner toward the large staircase.

In the store-room two of the undead claw their way through Pyrus' psychic wall. The shimmering energy crumbles, but the undead come to the portcullis. Their cold dead hands grasp at the iron bars. Frost creeps up and down the metal, very probably turning it brittle. More undead begin to work their way down the hall...

Torbin & Sesto

Torbin ran across the prison shooting mercenaries as he went. The fleeing guard took one in the back, and fell face-first onto the stairs. Another mercenary was tracking Torbin with a crossbow, and Torbin shot him in the trigger-arm a split-second before he fired. The arrow threw off the mercenary's aim, and the quarrel clattered off the bars of the cage next to Torbin, well off it's mark.

Sesto climbed up through the grate and immediately noticed that the undead-things had broken through one layer of Pyrus' psychic wall and were now clawing at the portcullis. He briefly entertained the hope that they would be too dumb to deal with the iron bars, but that hope was dashed when one grabbed on and gave a great heave. The bars lifted, and the others began to climb underneath...

Sesto yells out: Watch out at the gate! The undead are breaking through!
He turns to Kurzon and says: Quick... shove the one holding the gate. That will trap them for longer.
 


Auraia & Pyrus

Auraia flowed up the underground tunnel. Sesto was at the top of the grate, and wanting to conserve her psychic energy, she patiently waited for her turn to climb out.

Her brother Pyrus was up there already, and he fired a jet of flame at the mercenary that Torbin had shot. The man burst into flames, and flailed about before collapsing on the floor. Not wanting to go out like that, the other mercenary that was still in the room fired his crossbow at the fiery genasi, but most of it burnt up on the way there and it was only a sliver of burning wood that struck him.

Pyrus could feel parts of his psychic wall crumble as the icy claws of the undead tore it down.

Kurzon

Hearing Sesto yell the warning, and seeing the undead breaking through Pyrus' psychic shield and the portcullis, Kurzon (who has had some measure of success in the past with this portcullis) once again rushes to the iron bars and drives them down into the crawling undead, pinning it to the floor.

The creature, stuck under the portcullis, claws and rakes at Kurzon's legs. Distracted, Kurzon glances down at it while the one who had lifted the bars, reaches through them and scratches his face. Kurzon feels the wound frost over, creating painful cracks on his skin.
