To all new and current community members,

There have been several of you that continue to ask for the password to unlock the CS. That password will not be released. I am sure there are those who know how to bypass the password, but I wouldn't recommend doing that. I have seen an unlocked version of the CS and needless to say Forge is a genius. With that being said, the formulas for the various boxes and tables are complicated and unless you know what you are doing and where to look, you will only introduce bugs within the CS (I have seen this occur).

I know that everyone wants an update version of the CS that contains material from XGtE. Please be patient, I know for a fact that Forge is still working on the CS. I do not know when it will be release, nor do I know how. Needless to say that there are community members that are in contact with Forge and I am positive we will come up with a way of getting the CS to the community members.

bug for 2.27 Roguish Archetype: Swashbuckler

Hey all,

Is this a good arena to continue posting feedback for the 2.28? If so, here's a comment.

I am using 2.27. I created a Rogue with 'Swashbuckler' as Roguish Archetype.

<deleted screen cap - my question was invalid>

Swashbuckler is supposed to add +1 to initiative rolls. Therefore, a Swashbuckler with an 18 DEX should have +5 to Initiative, right? Well, here is the result:

<deleted screen cap - my question was invalid>

Seems like the Swashbuckler modification is missing. But there is more.

For some reason, it appears that the Charisma mod is also affecting initiative while 'Swashbuckler' is selected.

<deleted screen cap - my question was invalid>

Okay, to test this, I switch to 'Thief' as Roguish Archetype instead of 'Swashbuckler'

<deleted screen cap - my question was invalid>

When I have 'Thief' selected, it appears that the Initiative modifier is correct.

<deleted screen cap - my question was invalid>

Two issues:

1) The 'Swashbuckler' as Roguish Archetype does not properly modify Initiative and

2) It appears that selection of 'Swashbuckler causes the Charisma modifier to be incorrectly applied to the Initiative modifier.

Rakish Audacity
Starting at 3rd level, your confidence propels you into battle. You can give yourself a bonus to your initiative rolls equal to your Charisma modifier.

You also gain an additional way to use your Sneak Attack; you don’t need advantage on the attack roll to use your Sneak Attack against a creature if you are within 5 feet of it, no other creatures are within 5 feet of you, and you don’t have disadvantage on the attack roll. All the other rules for Sneak Attack still apply to you.

Thank you! This is what I see on the Character Sheet IV tab and the Start Sheet for Rakish Audacity:

I could be missing something. Is there a text correction needed?

Change your Charisma score to say 16 (this will give you a Charisma modifier of +3). So, if you do that you will see that +1 change to a +3. Like SansMoins said, Rakish Audacity adds your Charisma modifier to your initial roll.

Your character has a Charisma modifier of +1. Do the math. Also, the Swashbuckler relies on their Charisma as much as their Dexterity. You should keep that in mind.

Thank you. That makes sense and I understand that the spreadsheet mechanics and math are correct. I now have a revised point. Please note the yellow highlight in the following screen capture image from the descriptive text for v2.27 for Rakish Audacity shows the following text:

This does not match the text in red quoted by Sansmoins

Where did Sanmoins get his text from? Does the v2.27 text need to be updated? Apologies if I am missing something obvious.

This why you need the books. You can find the Swashbuckler subclass in the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide and Xanathar's Guide to Everything. It is in these two books that you will find a detailed description of the Swashbuckler.

Thank you! I do have XGtE. Just haven't had a change to read though it.

So, then, my post boils down to this:

If anyone is still accepting edits or bug reports for this incredible resource, then please consider editing the text for Swashbuckler to match the text in the published books.

I am going to edit my previous posts to remove space consuming screen captures.
