Ah. Thanks!

Though I'm not sure it's extinct: once this became a known thing, some bands started intentionally putting backward messages in their music as Easter eggs for any who cared to try finding them.

Of course, that only gets you properly possessed with heavy metal albums. You get weird results with other genres. If you do it with a country song, there aren't any demons, but first you get your truck back, then you get your dog back, then you get your girl back...
