D&D 5E Scarlet Citadel (Kobold Press) advice?

I'm looking at running this for my monthly face-to-face group when my current Saltmarsh campaign ends in 3ish sessions. I, and they, fancy a bit of old-fashioned dungeon crawling but with a modern take.
I've got the book, read it thoroughly and I'm impressed, but I'm also conscious that the combined wisdom and experience on this site is vast, so if anyone has any thoughts or advice to share, I'd be grateful. In particular, but not exclusively:

• Any ideas for expanding on the village of Redtower to increase adventure opportunities
• Other local sites of side-treks in the area
• Experiences of actually running the dungeon

My group will be four players, one of whom is a skilled min-maxer, the other three much more into role-playing. All are experienced.
