So what is this thing for? I mean, they can't be building these generative algorithms so we can entertain ourselves, right? What is the end goal here?
Well, it's already gotten me using Bing instead of Google. And installed the Microsoft Designer App, which might be the real end goal.

Sure, that may be why MS has connected this to Bing, but why is OpenAI making it? What is the ultimate goal for image generating "AI"?
Though more seriously, check out rhe Microsoft Designer App from the Bing Image Henerator, and ainthinknthe orisuct aspect is a little more clear.

Inspired a bit by Darkest Dungeon, I've gone in for an aquatic theme. (The "pelagic" in that game are pretty solidly just based on fish, by the way.)

The Prompt
A human man wearing chain mail stands in a damp cavern, staring in horror at four pelagic monsters that advance upon him, wielding harpoons and blades made from sharpened coral. Pelagic are humanoids that mix features of fish and crabs.

Without any art style included:

D&D rulebook art style
pelagic 5.jpegpelagic 6.jpegpelagic 7.jpegpelagic 8.jpeg

High detail fantasy digital painting
pelagic 9.jpegpelagic 10.jpegpelagic 11.jpeg

Saturday morning cartoon style
(This one got weird, since the human never looked like a cartoon. The monsters range from looking like something out of an old 70s cartoon to 90s CGI.)

Bonus Prompt on this theme
A human man wearing chain mail stands in a damp cavern, staring in horror at four pelagic monsters that advance upon him, wielding harpoons and blades made from sharpened coral. A statue of an aquatic Old God looms in the background. Comic book art. Pelagic are humanoids that mix features of fish and crabs.

Really went for old-school comics here. Also, the guy in the middle picture is looking the wrong way! They're behind you!

Open beta to iterate the results, eventually selling it as a subscription service for people like us who just want to see their thoughts as a piece of art?

I mean if I never got the dreaded Grey create? I'd pay for that.
