I zoomed in a bit and AI or human that's a dreadful cover.

Dragon and Dungeon magazines had better covers.
Not fair comparison, I have seen some great covers on classic D&D magazines!

But absolutely. If you look at the bottom of the figure in the green dress you notice she has no shadow. Adding a shadow to connect the figure to the ground is art class lesson 1. It has clearly been cut and pasted from a different image. So maybe more old school photoshop rather than AI.

Dragon looks photocl shopped in as well and the faces are terrible.

AI the devil is in the detail. First glance it will look decent.

This is bad on multiple levels.

The fun part about the cover is somebody using AI could repaint/retouch the cover and give it a Elmore's style. Or at least this could happen in the future.

My theory is it will be a happy end, but the restauration of the timeline will be not 100% because Hasbro needs a good reason to explain possible retcons, for example adding sorcerer and warlocks.
Won’t happen. Hasbro/WotC and Weis/Hickman are working in different Dragonlance canonicities/timelines/etc, as has been LEGALLY very well known since the court case a few years back. W&H have the ‘Dragonlance Classic’ label, and can non-exclusively use all their old characters. WotC has minimal control over what W&H write, but get to use the original ‘Dragonlance’ branding ad is not bound by anything W&H write, have written in the past, or might write in the future.

Besides, as of SotDQ, sorcerers already are in WotC Dragonlance. The don’t need to do anything with the fiction to make it happen.

I’ve pleasantly enjoyed the first 2 novels and I’m looking forward to the close chapter of this trilogy.

After a couple comments about and shadows for the characters, they do look like static clings they dropped on a map/picture and I’m pretty sure that dragon is in other art…or looks very very similar too another blue dragon art piece.
