The third volume of the Dragonlance Destinies trilogy, Dragons of Eternity by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman with cover art by Philipp Urlich, is set to be released on August 6, 2024. To celebrate the prior two novels, Dragons of Deceit and Dragons of Fate, authors Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman hosted release events at Gen Con. Asked if the final novel would have a special release event at Gen Con 2024, Margaret implied that they would attempt to set one up but the event was not coordinated yet. Margaret Weis confirmed that she and Tracy Hickman "will be selling the books at Gen Con."

Inferring from Joe Manganiello’s comments about Wizards of the Coasts' attitudes towards Dragonlance, Dragons of Eternity may be the last official Dragonlance project for some time. While Richard A. Knaak and Dragonlance Nexus produced a book of semi-official new Dragonlance fiction and adventures via the DMsGuild, Weis and Hickman’s latest novel may represent the final Dragonlance canon.

ABOUT DRAGONS OF ETERNITY (quoted from the Penguin Random House website):

An intrepid woman and her friends have inadvertantly altered the future of their world and now they must try to restore time in the thrilling conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Dragonlance series.

When Destina Rosethorn and her companions were transported to a time centuries before their birth—to the days of the Third Dragon War—the Graygem of Gargath that Destina carries brought chaos to the battlefield and changed the course of history. Upon returning to the Inn of the Last Home where their journey began, Destina and her friends discover a world completely changed. The forces of evil hold sway over the land.

The river of Time is rising, flowing inexorably towards present day. Destina and her friends have to make one last, desperate attempt to restore Time’s river to its proper channel. If they do not succeed, the altered past will sweep over the present until no trace of their old world remains.

The fun part about the cover is somebody using AI could repaint/retouch the cover and give it a Elmore's style. Or at least this could happen in the future.

My theory is it will be a happy end, but the restauration of the timeline will be not 100% because Hasbro needs a good reason to explain possible retcons, for example adding sorcerer and warlocks.

Doesn't look like AI art just generic art from last 20 years or so.
