No, we haven't seen any AFAIK (apart from the Bastions, as you mentioned, which was a weak and half-hearted effort to fulfill a promise they should have gone GUNG-HO for). I'm fully expecting a very poor performance, albeit a smidgeon better than the 5.0 DMG, but that's damning with faint praise. No, we won't see anything, or at least I would be truly shocked if we did. Yes, the books will just show up. It's only the most important book for a game that's all rah-rah-sis-boom-bah "DM Empowerment!" and they'll tell us diddly-squat about it until it hits the shelves.
Oh dear, as I predicted, this didn't age well at all...

Make a snarky response, get a snarky response in reply. 🤷‍♂️

You also added nothing to the conversation so I don't know why you bothered. Your statements on this have been extremely exaggerated to say the least, then instead of trying to support your claim you just state what basically comes down do "My opinion is fact because I say it is." What kind of response did you expect?

The rules are important to the game. It's also important to remind people that the game is what we make it. While I occasionally read about people who have basically rewritten the game, most DMs follow the rules and guidelines of the game fairly closely. However, that still means there's a lot of flexibility in play. If I make a ruling that deviates from what is written 5% of the time, I'm still following the rules the other 95% of the time.
Over and over and over, 5e boosters--and to an extent even the text itself--emphasizes how little the rules matter. Want to play something? Better hope the stars align and you don't have a DM who actively hates it, or you're SOL. Like a particular spell or class feature? Better hope your DM hasn't house-ruled it to Oblivion and back. Asking a question about rules? Everyone will tell you "can't actually answer, it's up to your DM."

5e was designed from the ground up to make the rules irrelevant. They're barely even suggestions.

There. Is that enough for you? The culture of play of 5e is actively antagonistic to the idea that rules matter.

Hang on... did someone say that rules don't matter?!? Is someone finally coming around? Rules DON'T matter! Yes! That's what I've been saying for decades! PEOPLE ARE FINALLY GETTING IT!!! WOO HOO!!! GO TEAM!!!
You're being facetious, but the problem with the joke you're telling is that this has been the default state for 5e, with even the books themselves talking about how players won't even notice if you simply don't even care about modifiers and just look at the die roll itself.

That, right there, conclusively demonstrated that the rules don't actually matter. Of course, you then get a significant number of people who hypocritically claim that rules, and especially balanced rules, do not matter...and then get angry when certain options are over- or under-powered. Which is profoundly frustrating to me.
