D&D (2024) Specifying 5e

When needing to specify the version of 5e, which do you prefer?

  • 2024 v 2014 (the year the core rules published)

  • 5.2 v 5.1 (the official names of the SRDs)

  • 5.24 v 5.14 (blending decimal with year)

  • 5.5 v 5.0 (using 3e as an analogy)

  • Other

  • 5e24 v 5e14

As a variation on the SRD based convention, I include 5.0 along with 5.1 and 5.2 to indicate periods in the publishing history.

I've been using 5.14 and 5.24 but I'd be fine with shortening it to 5.1 and 5.2 if that became the common convention. I assume in around a decade we'll get either 5.3(4?) or 6e.

My preference would be 5.0/5.5. But I see 2014/2024 used more often now, and I‘m willing to go with that, too, if most people like it better.
This is my thought as well. I seem to only need it on this site and the only times I talk about it with my group I used old/new 5e. I have searched for some stuff online and found I needed the 2024 bit.
