Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord

This looks fantastic! I love that Star Wars found an animation style that works for them and have stuck with it. I also feel that animation is where Star Wars truly shines.

This looks like it will be about Mail finding himself a new Jedi survivor apprentice (the Twi’lek). I wonder if we will also see Emilia Clarke’s character.

It would certainly be nice to see Qi'ra again (voiced by Clarke, hopefully) - I'd certainly like to know what happened to her in the years leading up to the Rebellion. I know her fate has been covered in some recent comics but I'd like to see some canon development on screen.

(Honestly if we saw any follow-up to Solo, which for my money is the best live-action stuff that isn't Andor or Rogue One that Disney has produced, I'd be happy.)

Ahsoka was distinctly a curate's egg, but weirdly most of my gripe was with the combination of the casting and not explaining what had happened to the characters since Rebels. Ahsoka had become this grim uncommunicative ex-mentor and Sabine had become this grim self-destructive ex-mentee with no real explanation of why that was the case. But once it got going, it got good. Huyang was great, Hati and Skoll were great, dream Anakin was great.

(Also not a fan of the New Republic being determined to be as incompetent as possible right out of the gate, that really takes the joy out of overthrowing the Empire. That really wasn't necessary, it doesn't make the protagonists look better, it just makes their world more stupid and poorly thought out.)

I loved Asoka. So did my wife. All I ever thought was "that kicked ass". I loved it. And it logically continued Ahsoka story.

I gave up on Acolyte with Episode 3. I didn't like they copied Anakin's birth and the Jedi Yord was not likeable. I fastforwarded episode 6 to the fight scene which was almost as good as the prequel fights though but I watched it out of context because i didn't know the story at that point. The Sith Lord helmet lookee like Land of the Lost Sleestak so i couldnt get into him. That show definitely was not made for me.

I can agree with Thrawn physical appearance though. That was my only disappointment with the show. But so far the only show coming close to Andor has Been Mandalorian 2.

I liked Ahsoka. A bit mid but better than Acolyte.

Personally I would have made the NR the bees knees. Thrawn wrecks it though setting up its decline. They win but get mauled. Then decline Thrawns parting gift

I'm wondering when exactly this is set. It may actually be pre-Solo, in which case we won't see Qi'ra. (Also unlikely to be voiced by Emilia Clarke, unfortunately; the animated shows have never had the OG voice actors - Katie Sackhoff was the only one to go the other way.)

I liked Ahsoka. A bit mid but better than Acolyte.
I liked it initially but upon rewatching I liked it less. As a big Rebels fan, Ahsoka was just a bit of a letdown in comparison.

I mostly liked the Acolyte. I was disappointed it got canceled.

On the plus side Disney's been a ot more consistent with animated.

Hopefully Ahsoka S2 is better. Set up was good at least.

I liked both which was the reason that I didn't jump in earlier to this discussion. They both had problems, but both were better than the problems IMO, and nowhere near as bad as advertised and nowhere near as deserving of the online hate. I wish Acolyte hadn't been canceled and am glad they are sticking with Ahsoka.

This looks great and I love the animation style

Looks awesome and faithful to Star Wars. I heard there’s a character that was associated with far future Star Wars Mon canon) that they are using for this

glad acolyte is gone-it’s probably one of many factors that got Kennedy more or less fired. Same with kenobi same with boba etc etc. it’s not good enough and costs/viewers don’t add up. Stranger things is the blueprint. Netflix is leading the way. Netflix crashed due to rumors of a secret episode. Disney may never have that problem and that’s on them
