I'm back to Ubuntu these days. Mostly because I know it reasonably well and it's also popular so you have a chance to find solutions to your problems, and sometimes also 3rd party packages (e.g. for your printer). Mint is fine, too, though, and I used it for a couple of years without major issues.

Mint

I’ve tried a few different distros over the last 20ish years with various levels of success and Mint has been a solid experience of feeling familiar enough using Cinnamon and stable with how conservative they’ve been with pushing updates.

If I wasn’t using Mint, I’d probably go with Debian. I currently have 2 Raspberry Pi running the version of Debian designed for that, one hosting my Foundry VTT install my group uses and the other hosting the Pi-hole DNS filter I run on my network. I haven’t had any issues with either. The Pi-hole device is one of the model Bs that had a single core 700Mhz processor and 512MB RAM. Updates run slow, but otherwise it works fine!
