Do You Feel The Cleric Is Balanced?

Feats are nice, but not neccessary. The HP difference is minimal. The Fighter has an average of 20 HP more at 20th level. That's hardly going to make a major difference. The martial profiency is irrelevant if you take the War domain or are one of the races that has free weapon profiencies...

Do You Feel The Cleric Is Balanced?

Yes, they are overpowered. Clerics can fill the role of almost any other class, and they have several extremely potent abilities of their own. In fact, they make better combat characters than the warrior classes in the game. When Clerics have their buffs up, they are greatly superior to...

Which should I buy? RACES OF FAERUN or MUTANTS & MASTERMINDS?

Races Of Faerun. As is usual with the FR books, it is very high quality, and it is easy to take the crunch within and modify it to use in almost any other setting.

    [OT-NBA] NBA Playoffs

Yeah, the Spurs always seem like they're going to do well in the playoffs, but inevitably, something goes wrong and they get knocked out.

Sorceror in current edition worse than wizard?

Alright. As Mr. Burns would say, I've had one of my trademark changes of heart. Pax, I am arguing with you because I find debate enjoyable. It's intellectually stimulating, and it's good to see what other people think on an issue. I see no need to get emotionally involved in a debate, it...

    [OT-NBA] NBA Playoffs

Go Lakers. Say what you will, come playoff time, the Lakers have delivered time and again. The only team that really seems poised to give them a run for their money is Sacramento.

Do you find the Mystic Theurge overpowered?

I thought the D&D balance system was based off of the party mechanic, not who can beat down who in arena combat. The Mystic Theurge, in a party of four or more characters, would be incredibly powerful. Forget the one on one aspect, and consider what the Mystic Theurge can do for a party. He...

Sorceror in current edition worse than wizard?

[/b] Wizards are perfectly playable with or without Boccobs Blessed Book. It is simply more convient when Boccobs Blessed Book is available. It is not neccessary, and so I don't consider it "broken". [/b] Early on, perhaps, but once the Intelligence bonuses really start adding up, this isn't...

    Developer's Roundtable: Mystic Theurge

Yeah. Divine and Arcane magic are still seperate forms of magic in 3.5E.

Sorceror in current edition worse than wizard?

[/b] I prefer to trust the designers on what the intent of what they wrote was, instead of leaving it up to interpetation. YMMV. [/b] I personally have no problems with Boccobs Blessed Book. But, I also think the scribing costs for Wizards are ridiculous without the existence of an item to...

    Problem: Is Ghostform over-powered?

    Yes, it's overpowered.

    Help with Polymorph Other

Considering you can already do most of what you described using Alter Self, and Polymorph Other/Polymorph Self are basically higher level versions of that spell, I'd say yes, you could.

has anyone played a rogue from start to finish without Use MAgic Device?

Most Rogues don't have the Use Magic Device skill. They do just fine without it, and are very effective characters. Having magical devices means you spent money on them, (or it counts against your GP total), and so you won't have the money for other equipment that can be helpful to a Rogue.

Sorceror in current edition worse than wizard?

[/b] Rogue 1/ Fighter 1/ Wizard 18. ;) Seriously, if you're set on multiclassing with Rogue, Fighter, and Wizard, you are not going to be very effective. You could effectively multiclass with two of the above, but all three will leave you weak or moderately talented in each, but not great or...

Sorceror in current edition worse than wizard?

[/b] I hardly see the correlation. That was the official company line at the time, and as employees of WoTC at the time, they were required to tow it. [/b] The Sorcerer doesn't have to guess because the Sorcerer doesn't have a choice of which spells to use in the first place. And if the...

I just killed 1000 orcs! How much xp do I get? None!?

A thousand Orcs presents no true threat to a standard party of 11th level characters, thus they gain no experience from such encounters. A few Fly spells, and you are immune to most if not all of the Orcs attacks. Any Archers they have will only be able to hit you on a 20, and meanwhile you...

Sorceror in current edition worse than wizard?

The fact that Monte and Skip both stated what the intention was regarding Boccobs Blessed Book cements my position on the matter. If the designers themselves state the intention of a magic item, I'm going to trust they know what they're talking about. As for the general debate of Wizards Vs...

Flying Monsters and Characters CRASH! Help Needed!!

No such rule exists in 3E, and I appreciate that. If you are going to enforce rules like that, why not enforce fatigue in combat, or called shots, or any number of other needless and complicating extra rules?

What D&D 3.5E releases are you most looking forward to?

The Revised Monster Manual, The Draconomicon, Forgotten Realms: Underdark, and Forgotten Realms: Unapproachable East. I really like the Forgotten Realms books, they're generally top quality. I am interested in seeing the new approach to monsters, and I like the new Pit Fiend enough to make...
