I agree 1-5 or 1-6 would be better I disagree with replacing wizards. Vancian casting is a big part of the game and needs to stay. If 5 classes are in I would put in the Bard for just the reason you listed however.

As other have said at this point dreamscarred is the only one updateing the 3.5 psionic rule set. James has said that when they do a book it will not be using the spell point system but Vanican and it will not be called a psion.

Hands down that be forgotten realms. I have played and ran that setting for over 16 years. I find it to be a solid setting with a rich history.
