I'm most familiar with the borrow and never get/give it back phenomenon. Though once I gamed with a couple of jerks who said, "I love going to Tita's to play cause then I can walk out with a book". Tita's was the local game store and since I considered her a friend I also considered that a bad...
One of the guys in our new Sunday game has a set of steel dice. Of course he bought them from another guy who's a game store owner now, so he also showed up with new dice, but they weren't from crystal caste.
It's not that we didn't appreciate the spells, it was how he used them. We got fireballed, my character got ice stormed, he killed 2 hookers who got caught in a lightening breath blast, and several other occasions when he blasted without looking.

I seem to recall the White Kingdom is in the UnderOerth. In other words, Greyhawk's underdark. There are 2 articles, one an adventure, the other an Ecology of, regarding the true ghouls. The Ecology article mentions Nerull created them.
To put it bluntly, Battletech is now whacked. And not in a good way.
There are 2 universes. The old classic universe, which the latest novel called 'Endgame' details. I'd read it if you really want to know the latest in the old, good universe.
Then you have Mechwarrior Dark Age, or...
The mage I play currently is a Fatespinner. He's Lawful Neutral and by default follows the local god of fate and destiny. I play him just like a normal person who knows that there is no such thing as luck, whether good or bad, everything is pre-ordained.
Whenever possible I show little...
